Kurt Semrau GmbH develops and produces individual miniature lamps according to the specifications of manufacturers of medical technology and industry.

Experience - more than 65 years

Kurt Semrau GmbH can look back on more than 65 years of experience in the production of miniature lamps. Since then many thousands of types have left our house. They found (and find) use around the globe. For some years, we have also been offering our precision lamps in LED technology.

Quality - Made in Germany

We produce in the center of German medical technology in Tuttlingen. Before our products are shipped, they go through a strict quality control.

Technology - Classic to LED

We produce miniature lamps both in vacuum and xenon design as well as in modern LED technology. This covers a wide range of luminous intensities and color temperatures. Depending on the luminaire, it can be supplied in a socketed or unsocked version. In addition to our standard program lamps with base can be made at any time on customer request. Furthermore, we offer replacement lamps, suitable for the diagnostic instruments of all leading manufacturers such as Effner, Heine, KaWe, Orbitec, Riester, Welch Allyn, etc.

Application - medical technology and more

Our light sources are mostly used in handheld diagnostic instruments. In addition to medical examinations, our light sources are also used in industry (eg in technical test procedures).

Our history

Semrau miniature light sources have been produced for more than 65 years in Tuttlingen, the center of German medical technology. The company was founded by Kurt Semrau, a pioneer of miniature lighting technology, in 1951 and gradually expanded. Local medical technology has always made new demands on Semrau GmbH and its founders. Medical diagnostics and new technologies in endoscopy have posed new challenges to the performance of light sources. The Semrau GmbH grew so continuously and expanded its product portfolio with outstanding new developments. In 1971, Kurt Semrau handed over his life's work to one of his longtime clients, so that today the company acts as a subsidiary of Richard Wolf GmbH. With the advent of LED technology, Semrau GmbH also found a new and attractive field of activity with highly interesting prospects. Today, Kurt Semrau GmbH is an efficient and reliable partner for a large number of leading, also international medical technology manufacturers. Semrau products are proving to be absolute quality products for the highest demands in the worldwide market of miniature lighting technology.
